"Surrounded by five mountains, it's quiet and serene, except at times like this, of course, we celebrate and sing." And that's just what we've been doing since 2004: celebrating and singing. Community Choirfest was established as an annual choral festival in the Shickshinny area. The first festival was hosted by St. Martha's Church in Fairmount Springs. It has attracted participants from Benton, Fairmount Springs, Hunlock Creek, Shickshinny and the surrounding areas.
Each year has been different. The music changes. The format varies. Singers come and go. But the reasons we gather remain constant: a love of God, a love of music, and a love of our community.
